Foundation and Support Structure

A foundation (or, more commonly, foundations) form the lowest part of an architectural structure and are generally either shallow or deep.[1] They and their construction are also sometimes called basework,[2] especially in the context of larger structures.

A support can refer to a variety of structures in architecture that includes arches, beams, columns, balconies, and stretchers.
